Realizing Data Visualization

If you're anything like us here at SpotOn Systems, then you know something about data visualization, which means you may know about Hans Rosling, the Swedish professor of global health. Dr Rosling has presented data in appealing and understandable ways for years. His technique involves advanced data visualization.
In his latest TED Talk (and he has some great ones), Dr. Rosling brings important United Nations data to light. Most importantly, his interpretation of the data (via visualization) leads to far different conclusions than traditional data analysis.
What more evidence do we need that a visual representation of data is not only “cool” but it’s actually more effective?
This is something our customers have found as they implement maps together with IBM Cognos business intelligence in their applications. It answers questions in new ways, with more clarity than simple lists and charts.
