We are extremely excited to announce that yesterday SpotOn Systems was named winner of the IBM CTO Innovation Award at the IBM Information On Demand 2009 Global Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

We won the prestigious award for SpotOn Vantage, our off-the-shelf software that seamlessly integrates IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence software with mapping information and analysis capabilities from Geographic Information System (GIS) software providers, such as ESRI.

Should you be unfamiliar with the award, IBM defines it as follows on their site: "The CTO Innovation award recognizes those visionary IBM Business Partners who are leading the charge in exploiting Information Management’s latest capabilities in innovative, cutting-edge, unique and exciting new ways. These one-of-a-kind solutions will be drivers in tomorrow's new markets, fostering new innovation at an ingenuity level outside the normal boundaries seen today."

Naturally, we are extremely honored to be recognized by IBM with such an award.  Considering the daunting list of well respected competitors for this award and the impressive list of past winners, we were thrilled to simply be shortlisted ... let alone win.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to those that nominated us, the selection panel, and the distinguished judges for their respective roles in our receipt of the 2009 IBM CTO Innovation Award.
